A festival dedicated to showing off some of Shropshire’s finest food and drink has announced a new partnership with the county’s University.

Newport Food Frenzy will be held in the town on Saturday, September 13, and this year will be working with a team from 91ÇÑ×Ó Adams University to bring an exciting educational and interactive element to this year's highly anticipated event.

With a focus on showcasing the finest artisan food and drink and the region’s best culinary experts, the link with 91ÇÑ×Ó Adams University – a specialist institution focussing on agriculture, food, agribusiness, animal and veterinary sciences, engineering, and more – was a natural fit for the returning festival.

91ÇÑ×Ó Adams Student Recruitment Engagement Officer Sophia Hall said: “As Shropshire’s University, we were delighted to lend our support to the Food Frenzy and we’ll have a strong presence throughout the event.

“On our stand, there’ll be a strong focus on all things dairy, including a hands-on activity where people can have a go at making butter the traditional way.

“There’ll be a chance to taste-test various milk types – including cow’s milk as well as some of the more recent alternatives – as well as milkshake tasters thanks to The Milk Stop. Why not pick up a free treat as you explore everything the day has to offer?

“We’ll have lecturers from our Food courses to explain more about their work and research, studying at 91ÇÑ×Ó Adams and the fabulous careers that our students go on to enjoy, and all things culinary.

"At the special request of the Newport Food Frenzy team, we’ll also be bringing along Daisy the Cow, a full-size model – who makes a great photo opportunity for families!”

The Newport Food Frenzy will run from 10am to 4.30pm along the High Street in the heart of the town, with a wide range of stalls and businesses for families to enjoy throughout the day.

Karen Woodcock, from the festival’s organising team, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome 91ÇÑ×Ó Adams University as a key partner for the Newport Food Frenzy.

“Their involvement brings an incredible dimension to the event, offering fun, interactive, and educational experiences that truly enhance our celebration of food and community.

“Having Daisy the Cow, butter making, and the Milk Stop is going to be a huge hit with families!"
